May it be known that 3 far more succesful tips for surviving a night with India are...

1. Shower her with compliments - her hard-nosed exterior can easily be broken down this way and she will be putty in your hands.

2. Treat her like a 6 year old who has had too many E-numbers. Set her an impossible task. She will spend the rest of the night proving she can do it, thus leaving you to socialise with the grown-ups.

3. If these don't work, give up and just do what she wants. She doesn't give up easily so why waste your time with feeble protests.

Good luck.

I've heard that Brazilians are just about the most painful experience known to man. Your girlfriend must be something pretty special!

If you should fall off the wagon, I've heard that some of your stringy loyal friends do a nice line in male waxing ;)

Crocheting...I think it can be picked up much easier than knitting and there are magazines and free pattern sites and online groups and...
Yes, it's substituting, but at least crocheting might offer a bit more variety than Hollywood. Or you could combine the two and take your mind off both at the same time :)
Brightest blessings.
I wish you well.

Chris, I think it is indeed a brave decision and wish you well in your quest for sobriety.

May I suggest that should you fail you donate £50 to an alcohol addiction charity to compensate for the lapse of willpower.

High enough to make you think twice before casually rolling off the wagon...and probably far less than you would spend on alcohol in the month anyway.

Goodbye and good luck!
